Is something happening in Brazil???

World Cup 2014

Google Doodle, celebrating the amazing favelas of Brazil.....

The World Cup 2014

Use the links below to explore some recent news stories surrounding the current world cup action in Brazil. Y8s will be moving onto Brazil during the rest of the summer term, what questions do you have about the tournament? One political issue is the cost of staging the event. The famous favelas depicted above are home to some of the poorest people in Rio, should more of the nation's wealth be focused on the social issues found in slums caused by mass urbanization?

Y8 Get Revising!!

Some of the Y8s before the half-term break were asking how they could do extra revising at home before the Rivers and Flooding test in March. Well I am trying this web service called DreamTeach and is specifically aimed at Geography students. To find out more check the Year 8 page link opposite.

Please listen out in class on instructions how to use the tests and extra revision tools.

What next for Somerset?

Y8 are currently exploring the world of rivers and more importantly flooding. Over the past 2 months Somerset has recorded the most amount of rainfall since records began. Following a simple image search the results highlight how serious the current situation is for all the residents engulfed by the constant wet weather systems. Y8 stayed glued to the news, as your assessment will be focusing closely on these current horrendous conditions.
