Superb weather meant for an awesome day studying glaciation surrounded by the sensational Grisdale Beck U-shaped valley. Once the pupils realised that they were not in Scotland, they enjoyed the 6.74 mile trek through drumlins, scree and farmer's fields. Whilst sat at one site they looked at many features including arĂȘtes, corries and pyramidal peaks.
As you can tell the tarn was under snow, and conditions were tough higher up the hill, therefore we did not tackle the steep climb to the summit. However the troops did enjoy an ice-cream when back at base.
Once back we all attempted a field sketch highlighting the keywords that we have learnt today, below are Mr. Morris and Mr Barnes' attempts...guess which one is which.
